Evaluation a Community Education Model
Evaluation of the local community education model is crucial to proper operations.
It is important that the vitality and relevance of the model be maintained.
This can only be accomplished through a structured evaluation process. Begin
this effort with an internal examination of the goals of the model and the assessment
of how well the model is meeting these goals. Some methods that may be used
for this assessment might include a survey of the community members and anecdotal
information that has been collected. A more quantitative method is to track
the number of facility users, the hours the facilities are occupied on evenings
and weekends and examine attendance at the programs offered by the model. This
data can be used to analyze trends. Another method is to bring in an outside
team of evaluators to examine the model and its impact on the school and community.
Continuous assessment of the community education model can only improve the
services provided to the community.
